OUR TOWN
BY THORNTON WILDER
DIRECTED BYÂ JACK CUMMINGS III
FEBRUARY 9 – MARCH 3, 2002
The Connelly Theatre
220 East 4th Street
An omniscient Stage Manager describes this small New England town and introduces its residents, including the Gibbs and Webb families, who live next door to each other. In three acts, audiences witness a day in the life of Grover’s Corners, celebrate the marriage of Emily Webb and George Gibbs, and hear the reflections of those who have died.
Transport Group’s bold revival and inagural production reimagines the classic play, casting George Gibbs and Emily Webb with two actors in their 60’s; played by Tom Ligon and Barbara Andres, and the stage manager as a twelve year old girl, played by Emily Orelove.
